Panning Shot

A panning shot can be used to photograph or video record whilst rotating a camera vertically or horizontally whilst focusing on a person or an object in either a film or on television, I have shown an example of a panning shot below.

The picture above clearly focuses on the goal keeper Jens Lehman and the striker Andy Johnson as well as the football which they are both looking to win, the effect of this image using a panning shot had made it clearer for the audience to focus on the actual game play as the audience in the background have been made unclear so the whole image focuses on the action.
